About Transition

Training in Transition is a project that comes as part of a senior honors thesis for Marist College’s honors program. Each senior in the program is required to present a project that showcases his or her talents and interests. Through this blog, I have combined two of the things I am most passionate about: writing and athletics. I plan to explore aspects of both triathlon and rowing while navigating the transition out of Division I Athletics into the world of the self-coached athlete as well as my own personal transition from college to “the real world”.

Training in Transition has now evolved from a obligatory school project to an outlet for my thoughts, foods and adventures. After a brief (ok, a year plus) hiatus, I'm back!

Articles from Training in Transition have been featured on Let's Row Daily and promoted by Concept 2 and Rower's Edge.

Training in Transition as reviewed on girlontheriver's blogroll:
"It’s that day of the week again: time for me to recommend some fabulous rowing blogs for you to read over the weekend. The first is the excellent Training in Transition, written by the fabulous Tory, who is My Kind of Girl -  a rower who’s funny as hell, has callouses to be proud of and takes nail colour seriously (she has a whole post on it – gotta love it). The blog isn’t just nail trivia, though: there’s useful advice on dealing with blisters, chafing and suchlike. If you like GirlontheRiver you’ll love this. What are you waiting for?"
